The Eccentric Dames Society™ Hall of Fame

This is our collection of our flamboyant, outrageous, and outré role model ladies (with a few honorary “ladies” thrown in for good measure). They are fashion icons, artists, writers, entertainers, and leaders. They are all exceptional. Some are fictional…all are larger-than-real-life. They inspire us, and we aspire to them. We love them all dearly. Do you have a fabulous Eccentric Old Lady icon you think we should know about? Drop us a line!

Debbie Harry (Blondie)

Deborah Ann Harry, better known as Blondie, is a true Cult Icon for us unconventional ladies. Now into her 70’s, she is still the Queen of Hip and Cool, doing it her way, as she has all along.

Diana Rigg

Dame Diana Rigg, aka Emma Peel was a 1960’s style icon, sex kitten, karate chopping hero who embodied the perfect balance of being a strong woman who could also be sexy, smart and stylish all at the same time.

Charline Arthur

A rip-roaring, cigarette smoking, pants-wearing rebel, Charline Arthur shattered the molds for women in country music in the 1940s and 1950s.

Zandra Rhodes

Zandra Rhodes is one of fashion’s most colorful characters, and her textile designs and bright aesthetic defined the 70s. She’s more relevant now than ever.

Anna May Wong

Anna May Wong faced stereotypes and typecasting in the early years of movie-making, but she left a legacy as the first prominent Asian-American film actor.
