We’re a sanctuary — and guide — for eccentric, unconventional middle aged ladies: misfits, rule breakers, and style makers: and those who want to become any of those things. We’re part of a unique time in history: older women are celebrated like never before in press, media, books, film and blogs all over the Internet. Young women have historically received the bulk of the attention. But here in the early 2000s, middle aged women are left in the dust. The Eccentric Dames Society™ is for those women. We’ve done the clubbing and bar thing, we’ve traveled, we’ve had trysts, we’ve been married (and divorced), we’ve saved and wasted money, we’ve bought and sold homes, we’ve raised kids and critters, we’ve had a million different jobs, and now we’re taking all the wisdom we’ve gathered over the years and leveling up. Growing older doesn’t mean you settle down and give up. It means that you can finally be your true self, and answer to no one. You can finally be your eccentric old aunt that you always admired growing up. You can wear a boa to the grocery store. You can give your opinion — freely. We’re living for ourselves now, and we’re doing it loudly (but sometimes in the comfort of our own homes, in pajamas).
Another goal we have here at Eccentric Dames Society™ is to help women who want to be a little more outrageous in their lives. Our squad is pretty far out. We wear feathers to the pool, we drink cocktails, we party in our own way. We are classy and brassy and bold. We get stares. And we’re old. It’s totally okay, we’ve earned the title of DAME!
Stacie is a writer, graphic designer, and web developer. Legend has it that she was born old. She has always loved outrageous older ladies, often befriending them over people her own age. She is a devoted Francophile, loves a good Sauvignon Blanc and can mix a mean cocktail. She’s a genuine introvert with occasional social butterfly tendencies if the situation is right. She will have red hair until the day she dies. Stacie is married to the artist, Von Franco.

Sassy packed up and left the gray gloomy skies of the Pacific Northwest along with her ungratifying, soul-sucking corporate job and moved to the sunshine and desert breezes in beautiful Southern California. Canadian Ex-Patriate, Wife, Mother, Fur-Baby Mother and Entrepreneur, Sassy now sells Vintage for a living after a life-long love and passion for rescuing old things. Sassy, sometimes serious, always honest and usually outrageous, she is embracing the “silver” years with a sense of humor, adventure, and seeking that path to enlightenment along the way.
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Sitting still usually is not in Sassy’s vocabulary (until she crashes into a bubble bath). When not hunting for Vintage treasures, Sassy loves daily walks, exercising, hiking, dancing, gardening, making jewelry, plunking some pennies into a slot machine, partaking in a glass or two of red wine or a quality Gin cocktail (Negroni please!). She also likes relaxing at the pool in an outrageous sun hat with a good historical fiction book.
QUOTE: Time is precious, so waste it wisely

Kim comes from a fantastic family of vintage collectors, thrifters, artists and very non-professional comedians. She lives in the ‘burbs outside of Seattle with four rescue dogs and a few vintage cars and motorcycles, in a house some deem as overly-full of 50s lamps. She’s a graphic designer and news editor by day and also creates one-of-a-kind custom purses as Kalliber Kustoms. She’s a firm believer in living out loud. Kim is a founding member of the Piston Packin’ Mamas, an all-girl car and motorcycle club in Seattle.
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Hunting for vintage treasures. Creating purses, accessories and clothing using a mixture of recycled vintage items and her own general weirdness, humor and sarcasm. She enjoys yoga, beer, riding vintage/custom bicycles, puppy rubs, reading and a well-crafted tequila cocktail with a little heat.
LOCALE: Seattle, WA, for now…but who knows?
Born and raised in Washington, Kym has spent most of her life in the Seattle area. She’s been collecting vintage since she was 5 years old, when she first pilfered through her aunt’s jewelry box. She has bought and sold vintage over the years at street fairs, flea markets and in antique malls. Her 117-year old house is a hodgepodge of eras and collections because she can’t seem to stick to one style. She loves it all! Kym has been a hairdresser since high school, traveled extensively, lived on a wooden boat, raised two daughters and has three grandsons. She loves living life to the fullest, dressing the part and making each day count!
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Swing dancing, tiki bars, seeing live music, old movies, collecting vintage, and traveling

Mary, or “Mar” to her friends, is a first-generation born daughter of a Danish mom and Italian pop; consequently she grew up knowing her family could bake a delish strudel, then kill you with it. A native Californian, Mary loves her hometown of LA and would fight you in an alley with no shoes to defend her beloved city. A full-time illustrator and designer, she adores Mid-century design, outer space, cactus gardens, oceans, and go-go dancing. She shares her home with Longboard Brett, 2 bossy rescue cats and 1 senior rescue Pit with arms like Popeye. Her wish for the world: wear your colors loud and proud, and always mix your patterns.
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Thriftscoring, animal rescue advocacy, feeble stand-up comedy, complimenting strangers, roadtrips that include oddball landmarks, rum running (…ok, rum drinking)
LOCALE: The West Valley (California), home of Roy Rogers and Charles Manson.
